Dog Walking
What is your cancellation policy for walks?
We kindly ask for a minimum of 12 hours’ notice for any walk cancellations.
Cancellations made within 12 hours of the scheduled walk will be charged at 50% of the usual rate.
If we are unable to carry out the walk due to access issues — for example, if keys are unavailable, not working properly, or your dog is not present at the property — the full walk fee will apply.
We appreciate your understanding, as last-minute changes impact scheduled routes and other clients.
Is pick up and drop off included in the price for walking services?
Yes, collection and return to your home are included in the cost of each walk.
For your dog’s safety, all dogs are transported securely, either in a crash-tested crate or safely restrained with a canine seat belt in the vehicle.
How long are the dog walks?
Walk lengths can be discussed during your meet & greet. We tailor walks to suit your dog’s age, breed, health and energy level.
Are the walks solo or in groups?
We offer small, structured group walks with a maximum of four dogs at any one time, allowing for safe supervision and personalised attention.
Solo walks may also be arranged where appropriate and will be discussed during your meet & greet consultation.
Will my dog have the same walker each time?
Consistency is important. Wherever possible, we aim to keep the same walker for regular bookings.
What happens in bad weather?
Your dog’s safety and comfort always come first. Walks will continue in most weather conditions, but adjustments may be made during extreme conditions for welfare reasons.
What is your policy for young puppies?
Your puppy’s safety and wellbeing are our priority. We follow veterinary guidance when exercising young dogs and limit walks to approximately five minutes per month of age, up to twice per day. For example, a three-month-old puppy would walk for up to 15 minutes twice daily.
Due to the additional supervision, training and care that young dogs require, an additional charge applies for home sitting for dogs up to eight months of age.
Dog Sitting in Your Home
Is home dog sitting a good alternative to kennels?
For many dogs, yes. Staying at home reduces stress and allows them to remain in their usual environment and routine.
What does home dog sitting include?
Our home dog sitting service allows your dog to stay in familiar surroundings while you are away. Your sitter will maintain your dog’s normal routine, including feeding, walks and companionship.
Are sitters DBS-checked?
Yes. All Just4Dogs sitters are DBS-checked and trained in canine first aid.
What is your cancellation policy for dog sitting?
Once a booking is confirmed and dates agreed, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your reservation.
We kindly ask for a minimum of 48 hours’ notice for cancellations. If cancellation is made within 48 hours of the booking start date, an additional 20% of the total fee will be invoiced, bringing the total charge to 50% of the full booking amount.
We appreciate your understanding, as short-notice cancellations impact scheduling and availability.
What happens during overnight dog sitting?
Your allocated sitter will stay in your home to care for your dog in their familiar environment.
Overnight dog sitting includes:
- Two walks per day
- Feeding breakfast and dinner
- Overnight stay (sleepover)
Unless agreed in advance, your dog will not be left alone for more than two hours within any 24-hour period, allowing the sitter time to purchase provisions if required.
Our aim is to maintain your dog’s normal routine as closely as possible.
What is not included in your sitting service?
Our sitters are there to focus on the care and wellbeing of your dog. General house cleaning is not included as part of the service.
Bins may be placed out for collection if prepared in advance by the owner; however, this is considered an additional service and may incur a small charge.
Will you administer medication while sitting?
We are able to administer emergency or regular medication prescribed by a veterinary professional, provided written authorisation is given in advance.
Flea, tick and worming treatments are not administered as part of our service.
Dogs with medical needs will be carefully assessed prior to booking to ensure we can provide appropriate care. Additional charges may apply depending on the level of support required.
